Kentucky 4-H is honoring a local ag leader for his transformative support of agricultural youth programs.
Wayne Hunt of H&R Agri-Power received the “Friend of Kentucky 4-H” and “Partners in Progress” awards at the Kentucky Volunteer Forum. The honors recognize Hunt’s contributions, which include a pledge to the Kentucky State Fair’s Cloverville Stage and his support of the Kentucky State Fair Commodity Breakfast.
The impact is also felt deeply in Christian County. Hunt’s donations to the 4-H Ham Basket and local livestock shows have helped participation double since 2018. Additionally, his annual camp sponsorship has led to the highest local camp attendance in over two decades.
Beyond financial contributions, the H&R Agri-Power staff remain hands-on, volunteering for Ag Safety Days to teach local fourth-graders critical tractor safety. Hunt says his philosophy is simple: 4-H “trains kids for life,” and supporting them is at the core of what his company is all about.
