Author and illustrator Mark Ludy made rounds visiting with Hopkins County elementary school students this week to talk about his book “The Flower Man” and will be at Harvest Fest.
According to Hopkins County Schools Ludy is talking with students about his wordless picture book that reveals how simple acts of kindness can color a grey world. The City of Madisonville made the visits to each school possible and secured donations to provide each student with a copy of Ludy’s book.
Ludy told Hanson Elementary School students “the stories you discover in the book are yours”. He said no one gave the stories to them. He asked each student to realize that their life, school, and community matter, and for them to give their all.
After appearing at elementary schools across Hopkins County, Ludy will have a booth at Mahr Park Arboretum during Harvest Fest.
